Paraiba tourmaline is prized for its exquisite color, which is unlike the deep blue of the sea or the blue of the sky. In Japan, any blue-to-green tourmaline containing copper is called Paraiba tourmaline, regardless of its origin. It is a gemstone that boasts enduring popularity for its vivid coloration.
This is a Paraiba tourmaline from Batalha, Brazil. It is characterized by an exquisite hue that leans more towards green than blue, almost reminiscent of grandidierite. It offers a different expression from the vivid blue Paraiba typically imagined. It is a 3.8mm round cut. The analysis results show 2.80% CuO (copper oxide) and 5.74% MnO (manganese oxide). Includes an identification report and analysis report from GRJ (Gem Research Japan).
