Sapphire is a world-famous gemstone that needs no introduction. Red corundum is called ruby, while all other varieties of corundum are referred to as sapphire. With a hardness of 9, sapphire is the second hardest gemstone after diamond. Its high hardness, toughness, and stability make it an easy gemstone to handle. This is a rare, unheated bicolor sapphire.
This unheated bicolor sapphire was cut by the Sri Lankan lapidary Mr. Sanje. It comes with a GIA identification report.
