Afghanistan Aragonite 15.380ct loose stone with patch

The Japanese name for aragonite is araishi (hailstone). It is so named because calcium carbonate forms in the shape of small hailstones falling from the sky. Its Mohs hardness is 3.5 to 4, which is a little low. Its hardness is such that caution is required when wearing it all the time in a ring or similar. It has a beautiful glass-like luster.
