It is also sometimes called by the mineral name vesuvianite, but it refers to the same thing. Large crystals are rarely produced, and gem quality ones are rare. Please be sure to add it to your collection. Rare pink-colored idocrase. Generally green colors are produced by iron and titanium, but this pink color is thought to be produced by manganese. For this reason, it is sometimes called "manganese vesuvianite." The rainbow-colored lights shining in the plum blossom-like hues look like a prank played by a spring fairy, and are very lovely.
