Chrysoberyl is a stone with a rich variety of shades, ranging from pale yellow to green and deep brown. It is a gemstone with high hardness and durability. This particular piece features the cat's eye effect, and a penlight was used for the photography. The back of the stone is essentially unpolished. This is a highly transparent 4.2mm Sri Lankan chrysoberyl cat's eye, cut by Sri Lankan lapidary Mr. Sanje. The loose stone was polished from rough directly sourced in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka.
