Sapphire is a well-known gem. The mineral is corundum, just like ruby, but all corundum that is not red is called sapphire. This is a yellow sapphire. With a hardness of 9, sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness, and its high toughness and stability make it an easy gemstone to care for.

This yellow sapphire was carefully polished by Sri Lankan craftsman Sanje in Sri Lanka, from a sapphire rough purchased in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka. It boasts high transparency and a beautiful sparkle. An appraisal certificate is included.
