Malawi Moonstone 2.155ct Loose

A type of feldspar found in Malawi, Southeast Africa. It is characterized by fine, iridescent light streaks appearing within a translucent crystal. While common moonstones and rainbow moonstones are admired for the adularescence on their surface, Malawi-produced moonstones are appealing because the iridescent light appears to penetrate deep within the crystal. This iridescence is caused by light interference from slight distortions and layered structures within the crystal, creating an impressive look with band-like brilliance spreading in a certain direction. The contrast between its translucence and iridescence is beautiful, and those with particularly good coloration are rare due to limited production.
