[Ref: 12564102] Pink Sapphire from Sri Lanka, 0.142ct loose stone
Sapphire is a world-famous gemstone that needs no introduction. Its mineral is corundum, the same as ruby, but all corundum that is not red is called sapphire. This is a pink sapphire with a sharp, vibrant pink hue. With a hardness of 9, second only to diamond, sapphire is a highly durable and stable gemstone that is easy to care for.
This stone was purchased as raw material in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, and cut by Sri Lankan artisan Mr. Sanje. It features high clarity and a brilliant sparkle characteristic of fine sapphire. It was purchased as unheated, but no specific non-heated testing has been conducted. Please note that while a lab report may state "normally, heat enhancement is performed," this does not mean that heat treatment has been confirmed; it is an expression used when tests to guarantee non-heated status have not been performed. For more details, please see "Gemstones That Are Generally Heat-Treated."
