Andalusite is known as the "king of pleochroism." If you view it from different angles, you'll see multiple colors such as brown, green, and orange packed into a single stone. It is actually a polymorph of kyanite and sillimanite.

This is Spanish andalusite cut by Mr. Sanje, a Sri Lankan lapidary. It has been carefully polished to allow you to enjoy the pleochroism characteristic of andalusite, resulting in a beautiful finish with minimal color loss when viewed from the front.
