Synthetic rutile appeared on the market as an alternative stone to diamond in the late 1940s. It was only used as an alternative stone for a short period of time because it has a low hardness of 6 and has a stronger dispersion than diamond (it is brighter than diamond). It is a loose cut cut by Mr. Sanjay, a skilled craftsman in Sri Lanka. Polygonal round cut 6.5mm.
