iolite

Iolite, a gemstone with a beautiful deep blue hue, is also known for its strong pleochroism, which changes color depending on the angle. In some cases, three colors such as violet, gray, and yellow can be seen in one stone, giving it an enchanting beauty. It is said that the name comes from the Greek words "Ios" meaning blue-purple and "lithos" meaning stone, and its Japanese name is "cordierite".
