Iolite is beautiful for its deep blue-violet hue, reminiscent of a violet flower. It is a gemstone known for "pleochroism," where it displays different colors depending on the angle from which it is viewed. This particular specimen is an iolite that exhibits an optical effect known as aventurescence, which looks like glitter. It is commonly referred to as "Iolite Sunstone" or "Aventurescent Iolite." The sparkling light within the blue-violet depths resembles stars shining in the night sky. Enjoy this starry sky that you can hold in your hands. A penlight was used during photography.
