Iolite is beautiful for its deep blue-violet color, reminiscent of a violet flower. It is a gemstone with "pleochroism," meaning it appears to change color when viewed from different angles. This particular iolite features an optical effect known as aventurescence, which looks like glitter. It is commonly referred to as "Iolite Sunstone" or "aventurescent iolite." The shimmering light within the blue-violet hue is like stars twinkling in the night sky. Enjoy a piece of the starry sky that you can hold in your hand. A penlight was used during photography.
