This is an Ethiopian Paraiba tourmaline sourced in Hong Kong. Rather than focusing solely on clarity, I selected this piece for its vivid blue-green color and neon glow characteristic of Paraiba tourmaline. Ethiopian Paraiba tourmaline has been attracting attention since August 2026, when it was confirmed as a new origin by GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and Gübelin Gem Lab.
A unique characteristic of Ethiopian Paraiba tourmaline lies in its distinct chemical composition. Some specimens contain copper levels comparable to those from Brazil, and they also tend to have relatively high levels of vanadium (V), gallium (Ga), and lead (Pb). The vanadium content, in particular, is a crucial clue in distinguishing these from the previously known deposits in Brazil, Nigeria, and Mozambique.
For this item, I would like you to focus not just on the gemstone itself, but also on its composition, so I have included analysis data from X-ray fluorescence (ED-XRF) analysis.
While only the CuO (copper oxide) and MnO (manganese oxide) values are published on the product page, a variety of other elements were examined during the actual analysis.
I hope you enjoy exploring the unique characteristics of this stone and the elements it contains by comparing the actual Paraiba tourmaline you receive with its analysis data.
※X-ray fluorescence (ED-XRF: Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence) analysis is a method that determines the types and quantities of elements contained in a gemstone by exposing it to X-rays.
※Some elements have been hidden in the analysis data published on the product page. Detailed analysis results can be viewed in the analysis documentation provided to the purchaser.
CuO: 1.453%, MnO: 0.109%

※ Although we strive to ensure that our photos reflect the actual colors of the products, they may appear slightly different depending on the lighting conditions during photography or your monitor settings. Some photos may also be taken using a penlight.
※ For products featuring UV fluorescence photos, the images are taken using a 365nm wavelength blacklight. If you use a light with a different wavelength (e.g., around 395nm), the fluorescence may appear weaker or be difficult to verify. The blacklight we use can be found here.
