In Japan, its definition is established as "a copper-bearing tourmaline ranging from blue to green (regardless of origin)." It is a gemstone that continues to enjoy enduring popularity. This is a piece of rough Paraiba tourmaline from the São José da Batalha mine (Old Mine) in Paraíba, Brazil. Known as the birthplace of Paraiba tourmaline, this historical mine produced this mineral specimen still attached to its host rock. From the white to translucent host rock, a vibrant blue-green columnar crystal—characteristic of Paraiba tourmaline—extends outward. The vertical striations unique to tourmaline are visible on the crystal surface, allowing you to observe the natural form of the stone as it is found in the rough.

フォスフォフィライトが欲しかった、というよりは透明感がある柔らかなグリーンとほのかに蛍光感があるところがとても好みで、清水買いでしたが全く後悔していません。大きさも申し分なく、今まで小さすぎなければいい、くらいの気持ちでしたが、やっぱり大きいと色が堪能できて良いですね。時間帯によって色合いが少し変わりますが、どの色も眺めていて飽きません。一旦しまってからすぐにまた見たくなってしまうので不思議です。
