This is oxblood coral harvested off the coast of Kochi Prefecture, a leading coral-producing region in Japan. Its deep, rich red color is highly prized among the many varieties of coral and is the origin of the name "oxblood" (chi-aka). This piece was purchased directly from an oxblood coral dealer in Kochi Prefecture and polished by skilled local artisans. *Please note that while it may appear brighter in photos, the actual color is a deeper, more intense red. Please enjoy the sophisticated, elegant hue characteristic of oxblood coral.
This is Kochi-grown oxblood coral, considered the top color grade among such corals. Meticulously polished into an oval cabochon by skilled craftsmen in Kochi Prefecture, it boasts a beautiful luster and a captivating, deep red color.
