This is oxblood coral harvested off the coast of Kochi Prefecture, one of Japan's leading coral-producing regions. Its deep, rich red color is particularly highly valued among corals and is the reason it is called "oxblood."

These are old-stock branches (raw coral) purchased directly from an oxblood coral dealer in Kochi Prefecture.
This raw coral type retains the natural, branch-like shape. Each unique form is a pure example of the sculptural beauty created by nature over many years. The surface has a lustrous sheen, combining a smooth texture with a powerful presence. The average weight is approximately 6.5 ct. Please refer to the photo with the ruler for size.
