Rare stones, Petzotite. Also known as raspberyl. It is a new gemstone that was only officially recognized as a mineral in 2003. Its attractive bright pink color made it popular after it was introduced as a new mineral at a mineral show in the United States.

This is a round cut loose stone of about 2.1 mm that was polished in Sri Lanka from a rough stone of petzotite. Petzotite is not widely available, so it is also recommended as a side stone for jewelry . Only two stones are available, as shown in the photo.
