Spinel is famous from Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam, but this hot pink spinel was mined at the relatively new Mahenge mine in Tanzania in 2007 . Also called Ayana Spinel. Ayana means beautiful flower in Swahili, the official language of Tanzania.
