Sri Lankan Dunilite 0.142ct loose stone with certificate
Dunilite, discovered in Sri Lanka in 1996, is a type of olivine that is rich in manganese and is a type of iron-rich ferrosilite. It was named after Sri Lankan mining magnate Dunyella. It is a precious mineral that can only be mined in the Kolonna region of Sri Lanka, and there are very few crystals that can be cut, and even fewer that are available as gemstones. Its rarity and beautiful brilliance make it an attractive gemstone. It comes with a JTL identification certificate.
Dunilite is purchased locally as rough stones in small quantities and polished in Sri Lanka. The identification certificate states the mineral name as olivine and the gemstone name as olivine.
