Microlite is a rare mineral that contains tantalum, a well-known rare metal, as one of its primary components. Belonging to the pyrochlore supergroup, it is found in sources such as granitic pegmatites. While it comes in shades like yellow, orange, brown, and green, it is most often found in minute crystals or massive forms, making gem-quality stones suitable for cutting exceptionally rare.
This particular microlite features an attractive, subdued gold-yellow hue. Though small, it has been emerald-cut, causing light to reflect off its step-like facets as it is turned. While inclusions are visible within, these characteristics are unique features of natural gemstones. This is a precious stone that can be enjoyed in its cut form—a recommended find for collectors of rare minerals. An identification report is included.
