A moonstone that looks as if it has a spotlight shining in its center. This bright optical effect, resembling the glow of the moon, is the hallmark of moonstone. A penlight was used for the photography. This is a moonstone from Uva, Sri Lanka, that has only been mined in recent years. We purchased the rough stone and had it polished into a special cut by Sri Lankan artisan Mr. Sanje to bring out its brilliance.
