Paraiba tourmaline is prized for its captivating blue to green hues. It is characterized by a unique coloration derived from its copper content and was first discovered in Paraíba, Brazil, in the 1980s. Since then, copper-bearing tourmaline has also been mined in Africa, and in recent years, stones from Ethiopia have garnered significant attention.

This is an Ethiopian Paraiba tourmaline sourced in Hong Kong. Rather than focusing solely on clarity, I chose this piece for the vibrant blue-green color and neon glow that define Paraiba tourmaline.
While inclusions are present, stones of a similar color with higher clarity can command prices three times higher in the local market. This stone was selected for its balance of aesthetic beauty and value.
Compositional analysis shows 2.334% CuO (copper oxide) and 0.642% MnO (manganese oxide). This is a loose stone that can be appreciated not only for its visual beauty but also for the elements that create its color. It comes with a GIA identification report and a compositional analysis document obtained by our company.
