[Item 12564476] Black Moonstone from India, 0.568ct loose stone

A black moonstone that looks as if it is being hit by a spotlight in the center. This bright optical effect, resembling the glow of the moon, is the defining characteristic of moonstone. Since white and blue varieties are more well-known, this black color is quite rare. The photos were taken using a penlight. This is an Indian moonstone in a coffin cut, polished by Sri Lankan craftsman Mr. Sanje.
