A moonstone that looks as if it is being hit by a spotlight in the center. This bright optical effect, resembling the glow of the moon, is the hallmark of a moonstone. The photography was done using a penlight.
This is a moonstone from Uva, Sri Lanka, that was only recently mined. It was purchased as a rough stone and polished by Sri Lankan artisan Mr. Sanje into a brilliant custom round cut.
