0.278ct Alexandrite Loose Stone from Orissa, India, with Japan-Germany Gemological Report

Alexandrite is also known as the "king of gems." Discovered in the Ural Mountains of Russia around 1830, it is a mystical gemstone renowned as "emerald by day, ruby by night" due to its color change from green in natural daylight to red under incandescent light. Today, Russian alexandrite is rarely circulated, with production mainly coming from Brazil, Sri Lanka, and India. This particular alexandrite is from India. You can enjoy its color change with a red-toned color-change penlight.
This is an old stock alexandrite from the Orissa mine in India. It is a unique stone from old stock, which has limited availability today. While it contains inclusions, its vivid color change is captivating. It comes with an appraisal report from the Japan-Germany Gemological Institute.
