A black moonstone that looks as if it has a spotlight shining on its center. This bright optical effect, resembling the glow of the moon, is a characteristic of moonstone. White and blue moonstones are well-known, so this black color is perhaps quite rare. The photos were taken using a penlight. This is an Indian black moonstone cut by Sri Lankan lapidary Mr. Sanje.
