Chrysoberyl is a stone that comes in a variety of shades, from pale yellow to green and dark brown. It is a hard and durable gemstone. This particular stone exhibits a cat's eye effect, and a penlight was used for the photography. The back of the stone is essentially unpolished.

This highly transparent Ratnapura chrysoberyl cat's eye was purchased directly in Sri Lanka. It has been given a beautiful round cabochon cut by Sri Lankan master polisher Mr. Sanje, allowing the cat's eye effect to be enjoyed to its fullest. A round shape is relatively rare for chrysoberyl cat's eye, offering both charm and presence.

Round cut chrysoberyl cat's eyes are not very common.
