Ruby, a gemstone cherished since ancient times, refers to red corundum. With a hardness of 9, second only to diamond, ruby is a durable and stable gemstone that is easy to care for. This particular ruby exhibits a star effect, captured with the aid of a penlight. The back of the stone is generally unpolished.

This is an unheated star ruby from Vietnam. It's an old stock Vietnamese ruby, which is not commonly available. An appraisal report is included.
