Nigerian Cobalt Garnet 0.095ct Loose with Certificate

Did you know that spinel, a popular gemstone known for its rich color variations and August birthstone, is actually a group name? The spinel we usually refer to is primarily composed of magnesium. This particular stone is a gahnite, where the magnesium has been replaced by zinc. Please enjoy the straight brilliance that is somewhat similar to spinel.

This is a cobalt gahnite cut by Sri Lankan master cutter Mr. Sanje. A certificate of authenticity is included.
