Canadian Eudialite 5.714ct Loose Stone with Certificate of Authenticity
Eudialyte is a mineral reported in Greenland in 1819, and was initially thought to be a type of garnet due to its vibrant red color. Subsequent research revealed it to be a complex silicate mineral containing zirconium and rare earth elements, and it has since been classified as an independent mineral.
Its name comes from the Greek word meaning "to dissolve well," referring to its tendency to react with acids. It is mainly found in unique alkaline rock formations, such as the Kola Peninsula in Russia, and is not widely distributed. Often coexisting with black and white minerals, it is a highly sought-after rare stone among collectors, prized for its deep crimson color and distinctive appearance.
This is a Canadian Eudialyte that has just arrived from Tucson, USA. A certificate of authenticity is included.
