Zoisite has a wide range of colors. It was named after Slovenian mineral collector Zygmunt Zois. Tanzanite is actually a type of zoisite. Like tanzanite, it is a gemstone with an appealing "pleochroism" that allows it to appear different colors when viewed from different angles.
This is a 1.312ct loose zoisite stone from Tanzania, polished by Sri Lankan cutter Sanjay. It has been carefully cut so that the color does not fade even when viewed from the front.
