Oregon Sunstone is said to be the most beautiful labradorite in the world. It is a stone that has been gaining popularity in recent years. Some types have inclusions that reflect like glitter within the stone, a phenomenon called aventurescence (schiller effect). To accurately convey these optical effects, a penlight is used for photography.
This is a 0.472ct Oregon Sunstone loose stone from the USA, cut by Sri Lankan polisher Sanje, which can also show green depending on the angle of the cut.
