Also known as "Goshenite," this is a colorless and transparent beryl. Mineralogically, it belongs to the same beryl group as emeralds and aquamarines, and is also called "white beryl." While emeralds gain their color from chromium and aquamarines from iron, this stone is appealing for its crystal-clear transparency, which results from it containing almost no coloring elements. This Brazilian Goshenite was cut by the Sri Lankan lapidary Mr. Sanje.
