Peridot is a gemstone with an appealing, refreshing light green color, reminiscent of young grass. It is famous as the birthstone for August. Its name comes from the Latin word for olive, and its youthful, fresh green color is truly captivating, just like that of an olive. This is an octagonal cut peridot from Arizona, USA. It was polished by Sanjay, a Sri Lankan craftsman. It has been carefully cut so that the color does not fade even when viewed from the front.
