This is a colorless and transparent beryl, also known as "Goshenite." Mineralogically, it belongs to the same beryl group as emerald and aquamarine, and is also called "white beryl." While chromium turns it green to become emerald, and iron gives it the blue of aquamarine, goshenite's charm lies in its crystal-clear transparency, resulting from a near-absence of chromogenic elements.
