An orange moonstone that looks as if it is being hit by a spotlight in the center. This bright optical effect, resembling the glow of the moon, is a characteristic of moonstone. While moonstone is commonly white, colorless, or blue, this orange color—as seen in this loose stone—is rare. A penlight was used for the photos. This orange moonstone was cut by the Sri Lankan lapidary, Mr. Sanje.
