[Published on 12557546] Brazilian Cashalite Amethyst 0.387ct Loose Gemstone

Sale price¥9,800
This amethyst was depleted in a short four-year period between 2000 and 2004, at the Caxarai Mine in Rondônia, Brazil. This vivid deep purple Caxarai Amethyst is also known as a color-shift amethyst because it turns reddish-purple under warm-toned light. It was initially discovered during mining development efforts to find the rare metal tantalum ore. When it was first brought to Japan, its extraordinarily beautiful appearance and similarities to infrared absorption characteristics led some to suspect it was synthetic amethyst.
