Sapphire is a well-known stone. It is made of the same mineral corundum as ruby, but all corundum other than red is called sapphire. This is a pink sapphire with a striking pink color. Sapphire is the second hardest gemstone after diamond with a hardness of 9, and is tough, stable, and easy to care for. This is a highly transparent pear-cut pink sapphire from Madagascar.
The inclusions are visible due to the 44x magnification, but are not noticeable to the naked eye.
