Larimar. Its mineral name is pectolite. In 1985, an American jeweler marketed it as the "gem of the Caribbean." The name "Larimar" comes from the name of the discoverer's daughter, and "mar" is Spanish for "sea." Indeed, this refreshing blue color is reminiscent of the Caribbean Sea.
