Cassiterite 1.658ct loose stone (bicolor cassiterite) Japan-Germany exchange

Sale price¥128,000

Cassiterite is similar to castrite, but is a different mineral, and in Japanese it is called tin ore. It is the main ore for extracting tin and is also very important for industrial purposes. Usually, cassiterite is a black or dark brown rough stone, but it is rarely cut for gemstones. Pure cassiterite is transparent, and the iron content causes it to have a pale yellow to brown color. In addition, cassiterite is an oxide mineral of tin, and is characterized by its high specific gravity. Therefore, it may seem smaller in size than other gemstones even if it has the same carat weight. It has a higher dispersion rate than diamond, and can sometimes show beautiful fire similar to brown diamonds. This is a bicolor type of cassiterite. It comes with a certificate of identification from the Japan-Germany Gemological Institute.
