Sapphire is a well-known stone. It is made of the same mineral corundum as ruby, but all corundum other than red is called sapphire. This is the most orthodox blue sapphire. Sapphire is the second hardest gemstone after diamond with a hardness of 9, and is tough, stable, and easy to care for. This is a 0.825ct loose blue sapphire cut by Sanjay, a Sri Lankan cutter. It has a teal blue color.
