Cornellpine (prismatine) from Tanzania 2.288ct loose
Cornellpine is attractive for its pleochroism, which makes it appear to be a different color when viewed from different angles. It is one of the rare stones. Pleochroism is often seen in three colors, and there are some that magically change color from blue to purple to green to clear. It is said that the larger the grain, the more beautiful its pleochroism will be, but it is rare. This is a rare type of boron-containing cornelpine called prismatin. It is a large cornel pin with a beautiful blue color of 2.2ct and this color.
