Deep-sea coral collected off the Atlantic Ocean. Unlike common shallow-sea corals, it grows slowly over many years in environments hundreds of meters or more below the surface.

Because it grows in the deep sea where light cannot reach, it has a high internal density, a firm texture, and a unique presence. Its growth rate is also very slow, so materials that retain their natural form like this are not widely available.

These are deep-sea coral cabochons polished to 7mm.
