Deep-sea coral said to have been collected off the Atlantic coast.
These are old stock directly purchased from a coral dealer in Kochi Prefecture, one of Japan's leading coral producing regions.

Unlike common shallow-water corals, they are characterized by slow growth over many years in environments hundreds of meters or more deep.

Because they grow in the deep sea where light cannot reach, they have a high internal density, a firm texture, and a unique presence. Their growth rate is also very slow, and materials that retain their natural form like this are not widely circulated.

This is a raw branch type that makes use of the natural branch shape.
Each unique form is the very shape created by nature over many years.

The surface has a soft luster, and combined with the subdued coloration, you can enjoy the unique texture of deep-sea coral.
