Mineral-wise, it belongs to the beryl family, the same as emerald and aquamarine. It is named after JPMorgan Chase, one of the largest investors in history and an avid gemstone enthusiast. It is also famous as the April birthstone.

This morganite is from Nigeria, a country with a low distribution rate. We purchased the rough morganite from Nigeria, and then had it cut by Sri Lankan cutter Sanjay into a special cut with many facets. Although it does have inclusions, this loose stone allows you to fully enjoy the characteristic pink color of morganite and the beauty of the cut .
