[What is Heart & Cupid (H&C)]

Do you know about Heart & Cupid (H&C)?

Heart & Cupid is the name of a cut registered as a trademark by the Central Gem Research Institute. GIA (Gemological Institute of America) calls the same cut H&A (Heart and Arrow), and AGT Laboratory calls it Hanashirube, which are different names but refer to the same thing.

When observing a round brilliant cut diamond, a diamond that exhibits an optical phenomenon pattern of 8 "arrow shapes" on the crown side and 8 "heart shapes" on the pavilion side is called a heart & cupid. requires a special gemscope (observation device) .

[How to use]

Heart & cupid cut

・Diamond table surface (front side, flat side)

・Pavilion side (back side, sharp part)

・When looking at the table surface

Set the diamond in the hole of the special stone seat that comes with the scope so that the table surface (flat side) is facing up . If you look at the diamond from above with a scope, you will see an arrow pattern (a pattern similar to a bow). Please place the translucent part of the scope body against your eye.

・When viewing the pavilion side

Place the diamond with the pavilion side (pointed part) facing up on the flat side of the special stone seat. If you look through the scope, you will see a heart pattern .

The heart pattern on the pavilion surface can only be observed when it is loose. After making it into jewelry, only the arrow pattern on the table surface can be observed.

Two types of film are included in the scope barrel: red and blue. By changing the film, you can enjoy different colored H&C patterns.
