The name comes from the Greek word " leukos ," meaning "white," and they are also called white garnets. The parent material is grossular garnet, and some may exhibit fluorescence under ultraviolet light. The certificate of authenticity lists this as "grossular garnet." It is a rare stone that boasts pure transparency among the many garnets. A certificate of authenticity is included.
