[Listed on 12562258] Eudialyte from Canada 2.796 ct loose stone

Sale price¥39,800
Eudialyte is a mineral reported in Greenland in 1819, and was initially thought to be a type of garnet due to its vivid red color. Subsequent research revealed it to be a complex silicate mineral containing zirconium and rare earth elements, and it has since been classified as an independent mineral.
Its name comes from the Greek for "easily dissolved," referring to its tendency to react with acids. It is mainly found in specialized alkaline rock bodies, such as Russia's Kola Peninsula, and is not widely distributed. It often coexists with black and white minerals, and is a rare stone popular with collectors for its crimson color and unique appearance.
