Sapphire is a well-known gemstone that needs no introduction. It is a variety of the mineral corundum, the same as ruby; any corundum that is not red is called sapphire. With a Mohs hardness of 9, it is a durable gemstone that has long been cherished for jewelry.
This particular stone is from Kashmir, known as a historically famous source for sapphires. Sapphires were discovered in Kashmir in the late 19th century, and because the production period and quantity were limited, it remains a special origin to this day.It features a beautiful, soft, pale blue hue, measuring 3.2mm and weighing 0.190ct. Furthermore, it is an unheated sapphire, meaning its color and clarity have not been altered by heat treatment.A GIA report is included.
